OS X, show-hide hidden files

Sometimes you need to see hidden files and folders in your system,
You could use the terminal:

defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles -boolean true
killall Finder
The reverse is
defaults delete com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles
killall Finder

Apple has opened its OS X Beta seed program to anyone with an Apple ID, via the new OS X Beta Seed program. Simply sign in at Apple's beta site, agree to the terms and conditions (including a prohibition on sharing information about the beta versions), and activate the Mac you want to use with the provided Beta Access Utility. Once you're live, the beta builds of OS X will appear in the Mac App Store.

Lytro, Light-field, Camera

Lytro released specs of their upcoming professional light-field camera, the Illum. (light-field enables you to refocus shots after taking them).
"Photographers can use the camera’s software to refocus pictures after the fact, generate 3-D images, adjust the depth of field, and create tilt shifts. It will be available in July for $1,500."
It has an 8X (30 – 250mm) zoom lens, a constant f/2.0 aperture, 1/4000 shutter, sensor for 40 million light rays, and a four-inch backside touchscreen display.

Shazam integrated in iOS 8

Shazam will be integrated into iOS8, according to Bloomberg's sources. The integration will be across the mobile operating system, same way twitter and facebook are integrated and will likely integrate closely with the iTunes Store and iTunes Radio, which has been rumored to be a separate app in the next version of iOS. It's not clear whether the integration will be Shazam-branded or referred to by a generic name on the platform.

Terminal, Clean up ._ files

For sometime, years? I've been seeing these ._ files on my desktop when browsing files with coda, or an other ftp/file browser where you can see hidden files. Especially on the desktop I see a bunch of ._ file names that are greyed out (._index.html, ._photos.html, etc.). What are these files? How can I get rid of them?

The ._ files are created when you copy or otherwise create a file with metadata or extended attributes on a file system that doesn't natively support it.
